When I had few months, my mother and I reached him in ROME and we stayed in the capital until my father had a heart attack during a flight because of lack of the oxygen mask and then we came back to Sanremo.
In the following years I stayed in Sanremo, Rome and Como where my father was born. After the studies at the “Art school” in Cantù (COMO), he learned the basics of photography from his brother Piero, pioneer of the TAGLIABUE family.
They started on a business together in Como and then in Sanremo. Many grandchildren (in total 9) and seven great-grandchildren followed his footsteps. Today we are at the firth generation and now finally a woman, Anna TAGLIABUE, carries out this business activity in Milan.
So I grew between an “EXPOSURE ROOM” and a “DARK ROOM”: the first thing that I learned was the prints development, magic of black and white. The enthusiasm to see appear little by little shapes and to work together with my father gratify me very much. From my side I put a big enthusiasm to make him tell me “ WELL DONE”.
But the most interesting part for my artistic growth was the knowledge of art entirely.

At the good singing

Carlo Tagliabue, singer at “La Scala” in Milan, came to Sanremo in 1954 to sing the “RIGOLETTO” and thanks to him I approached opera. I approached also painting thanks to associating of the friend of Tafè, Gentilini born in Sanremo and lived in Paris, painting teacher of the actress KIM NOVAC. Gentilini, Carlo DAPPORTO and my father were friends of excursions. They were fertile years of knowledge but I was too young to take pictures.
I dared to take pictures only to my friends with my little “RONDINE”!!! It was a cube that I turned according to the picture I wanted to take. As I didn’t know yet my future job, I accepted to pose for painters and magazines, I appeared in the picture romance story “GRAND HOTEL” with Sofia LOREN, then in the movie “MEDITERRANEE” for Tele Montecarlo and for the Canadian television I was the main actress of the episode shot in Sanremo, I was the fiancé of a jazzman who played with his band at the Casino in Sanremo. In that occasion I knew another kind of music: “JAZZ” and I fell in love at the first sight!
In an afternoon in August 1961 I met in the beach a nice boy who told me that he had a painter uncle, FARFA a futurist poet follower of MARINETTI. I got curious and I promised to visit him.
I was attracted by the epoch stories of futurism and I met many times the poet, every time it was such a joy that I became his inspiring muse and he dedicated to me several sonnets. |
